SF6 Director Showcases Unused Capcom Cup 12 Artwork Drafts By Fukumori
They will look good as merch

The official main visual artwork for Capcom Cup 12 was displayed a couple of days ago and it featured Street Fighter's leading lady, Chun-Li, poised for a battle. The artwork will feature prominently in promotional material for the culmination of the Capcom Pro Tour 2025.

Following this, Street Fighter 6 director, Takayuki Nakayama has taken to social media to proudly show off some of the rejected drafts for the same artwork all of which was done by Fukumori-kun, an artist on the game. Nakayama shared three images with the first one showing Chun-Li tying up her hair in preparation for a fight with the other two showing her walking out to fight from different angles.

According to Nakayama, he said that while they aren't the key visuals for Capcom Cup, they do look good enough to adorn merchandise. This is true, as the artworks are impeccable, especially the last two which look like could be placed on the front and back of a shirt and look really cool.

Capcom have come under fire recently for their decision to move sections of the Capcom Cup tournament to a pay-per-view monetization model. This decision, which seemed out of the blue, has really caused a lot of confusion for fans who are in the dark as to how this is to work.

The general consensus seems to be that Capcom are moving Street Fighter 6 away from other parts of the world and focusing almost exclusively on the Japanese region where they enjoy the most popularity.

Capcom are yet to respond to the backlash, and their rebuttal, whenever that comes, will be truly eye-opening as to the direction of the game, especially its more competitive aspects.
