SF6 At EWC: Players Share Customized Welcome Letters
A nice touch before the start of hostilities

The Street Fighter 6 tournament at the Esports World Cup kicks off tomorrow, and just about everything is set.

The tournament will feature 48 players in 12 groups. It is something of a double elimination bracket, but is a little unique as it is a GSL-style bracket. This is a system in which each group of 4 players will see 2 players face one another with the winner moving ahead and the losers dropping below. The winners of the first two matches will now play a set to determine who comes out as the group's winner, while the two players who lost, will also play an elimination match. The winner of the elimination match will then play the loser of the group winner's match in another elimination match. The winner of this, moves to the 2nd phase. The overall winner of the group goes directly to the 3rd phase.

All matches prior to the 3rd phase are ft3, with 3rd phase matches being ft5. The third phase will be a single-elimination tournament, with the winner taking home a cool $250,000.

In preparation for the tournament, the EWC has furnished its players with personalized welcome letters, getting them ready for the event. The letters usually welcome the player and congratulate them on any recent achievement, and then wish them the best in the tournament.

A few players shared their letters, including MenaRD, Craime, Punk, Bonchan, Gachikun, and many more.

Last year's event saw Xiao Hai from China take it over Kawano, who finished in second place while Tachikawa was third. Interestingly, both Xiao Hai and Tachikawa are in the same group and play each other in their opening matches. Meanwhile, Kawano is in the same group with Momochi, MenaRD, and Riddles.

The action can be followed either on Twitch, or YouTube.
