Recently, Riot Games updated its Code of Conduct. It is a big document that covers all the games and all the main positions in esports, be they players, managers, team owners, or any other professionals. While the release of Project L is still nowhere near us, it is still important to follow the actions of Riot Games since they set up the playfield for future esports competitions.
You can read the document here. It is divided into five parts, with the biggest of them being Conduct Rules and Investigations of Rule Violations and Consequences. The former describes different rules that should not be broken. One of these rules, for example, prohibits a registered player from dropping out of a tournament without consent from the organizer. But mostly, it is a list of common sense rules and guidelines inside and outside of the game.
The latter describes the process of investigations, time limitations, and possible penalties. It is worth noting that the power is almost entirely in the hands of Riot Games, and they may or may not make those decisions public
For those of you who would be interested in the future Project L scene, this document is worth reading.
