2XKO Announce Changes To Recently Released Team Fight Fuse
Recovery frames up, a new parry escape option, and Evo approval, the game's most controversial fuse has been rebalanced

2XKO introduced a new fuse called Team Fight about two weeks ago and has now announced that it will be tweaking it.

Team Fight is a fuse that enables two characters on the same team to be on screen at once, made particularly with duos in mind. Each player is able to pilot their own character for a short period during combat, creating a window of simultaneous action unique in the game. Upon release, the fuse turned out to be incredibly strong, strong enough that some players voiced serious unhappiness with its addition. It was even banned from use at the upcoming Combo Breaker tournament.

How Has Team Fight Been Adjusted?

In a post on X, the developers explained that Team Fight in its current state is a powerful tool that grants users great versatility and firepower while leaving the defending player with very limited options against it. The balance, in short, was not where it needed to be.

To address this, the recovery frames on Team Fight have been increased from 5 to 12, a significant change that gives the defending player more time to respond. More notably still, the defending player can now end Team Fight entirely if they successfully land a parry. It shifts the dynamic considerably, turning what was a largely one-sided situation into something that rewards composure and timing from the player on the back foot.

What Does This Mean Moving Forward?

Team Fight remains banned at Combo Breaker, which was announced before these adjustments were made. However, Evo has since confirmed that the fuse will be tournament legal at their events. Given that Evo is one of the five majors in 2XKO's competitive season, it suggests that the changes made to the fuse are considered fair and measured.

Team Fight was added to the game on the 12th of May. The adjustments will go live on the 9th of June as part of patch 1.2.3. How the fuse performs under tournament conditions at Evo will be the true test of how well it was actually balanced.
