The May 12 update introduces new co-op systems, replay tools, balance changes, and a new Battle Pass

Riot Games detailed the contents of 2XKO patch 1.2.1, launching May 12, with a major focus on improving the duo experience. The headline addition is Teamfight, a new Fuse that allows both teammates to fight onscreen together for seven seconds. The patch also adds in-game duo matchmaking, integrated voice chat for partners, and Replay Takeover, a feature that lets players control either side during replay review to test situations and strategies.

On the gameplay side, Riot is further reducing the strength of Fury and Break at high-level play after recent hotfixes, while making smaller character balance adjustments across the roster. Illaoi received nerfs, Warwick got larger buffs, and Caitlyn and Darius were slightly adjusted. Patch 1.2.1 also begins Season 2 with a new Arcana-themed Battle Pass, while the Ultra version includes Akali, her Silverfang skin, and the Blood Moon stage.
