Red Bull Announce Akainu & AngryBird as Replacements for RBK 2023
The Street Fighter 6 Invitational has a couple of players that have been unable to make the trip

The Red Bull Kumite will take place in South Africa this weekend for a festival of hype matches and a new destination— Africa.

Red Bull Kumite is an invitational event and 15 of the best players worldwide were invited while several other players get a chance to play in the LCQ, the prize being a place amongst the main qualifiers.

However, sometimes things happen and players can't always make it. This was the case as two of the invited players, Justin Wong, and Arslan Ash are unable to make the event.

In a tweet by the Red Bull Gaming account, they announced that their places will be taken by the french Guile player, Akainu, and Middle Eastern powerhouse, AngryBird

The two were already in South Africa for the LCQ, but have now been bumped up to invitees.

Another player that has had a difficult time making the trip is iDom who has had the most problematic travel iternary with difficulties making his way from Florida to New York and then finally, South Africa. However, as we haven't heard anything about him dropping out, it seems he was able to make it.

The Last Chance Qualifier for Red Bull Kumite 2023 will start tomorrow, the 1st of July 2023, with the main event taking place on the 2nd of July.
