Punk Wins In The UK In Special Weekly Tournament

Evo 2024 winner, Punk, has always liked the UK and is there once again for the final worldwide Capcom Pro Tour event before Capcom Cup 11. 

Punk was the winner of a local weekly tournament where he defeated MenaRD to prepare himself for the upcoming CPT event. 

Kings of the World is the final CPT event and therefore, players from all over the world have flown in including Asian players like Nemo, Higuchi, Moke, and Chris Wong, North Americans including ChrisCCH, MenaRD, and Punk, and other top European competitors. 

Fight Lab is a local weekly that took place on the 12th of December 2024, and with so many players available, it turned out to be a star-studded affair. 

Punk was the winner, over MenaRD while Lexx, Problem-X, EndingWalker, Nemo, John Takeuchi, and Higuchi made up the rest of the top 8. 

It was rather interesting as Punk and Mena both used different characters from their notable mains with Punk using Kimberly and Mena opting for Ryu. This could be in response to the Cammy nerfs while Mena has also been searching for a stable character ever since dropping Luke.  

Kings Of The World will hold between the 14th and 15th of December 2024.
