It was another exciting week of action with Street Fighter League USA and the matches on show were the following:
Team Matches
- FlyQuest vs Cloud9
- Shopify Rebellion vs Red Rooster
- Bandits vs Fighting Spirit
All the matches were a fascinating watch, but the one that most captured the imagination was the first which saw FlyQuest try to reclaim their spot on top of the table versus a Cloud9 that have been the upstarts of the season. The first two matches went in favor of C9 with Lexx and Booce getting very comprehensive results versus ChrisCCH and Shine respectively.
That was when the fireworks started. As Punk took his place against JB, NoahTheProdigy who was on the bench for this match, said something to Punk, and just like with Xiao Hai, Punk did not take kindly to being spoken to and the two traded barbs for a bit with Punk telling Noah to take on the anchor spot if he felt brave enough. JB stayed cool, but against a visibly angry Punk, was unable to contain the onslaught. Punk won 3-1 and immediately got in Noah's face asking him to take on the tiebreaker role. Noah did not rise to the bait, and Lexx took on the hot seat instead.
Lexx was composed, and got a famous victory over Punk, winning the match 20-25 for his team.
In the winner's interview, Noah was asked why he didn't take on Punk to which he said that he isn't stupid and has no ego, but is only there for the team. Punk carried on his fight against Noah on social media, putting out a post where he explained a bit why he was particularly upset with Noah.
