Publishers did an amazing job to promote the game
The release of Mortal Kombat 1 is really, really close, and the marketing department went all out. Last week, Ed Boon appeared in the Hot Ones interview, the Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage was announced, and Secretlab released a limited edition Titan Evo gaming chair.
Today, the official release trailer was revealed: we received four minutes of pure hype!
Judging by everything, MK1 might be the biggest project in the franchise. Because this is a reboot, the expectations for the game are very high, and developers know that. As to why they decided to go the reboot path, we discussed that in a separate article.
Mortal Kombat 1 will be released on PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on September 19. Those who pre-order it will receive Shang Tsung. Premium Edition owners will receive six new playable characters (you can read about them here) as well as earlier access to the game (for them, MK1 will be available on September 14).
