It’s a great move by developers to increase the number of active players.
On the one hand, this might not be super exciting — “Man, I’ve bought this game at full price, and it’s free now?” On the other hand, it’s still a reason to celebrate even if you already have NASB in your PlayStation library. Why? Because a lot of players in the online lobby is one of the things the game desperately needs.
Yep, all the PlayStation Plus members can claim Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl as part of the service’s free games in June.
It’s not a rare occasion when a relatively new game becomes free on PS Now. For many titles, it’s an effective method to build a decent player base and keep a game alive. That usually works well if the developers add paid elements.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl got them recently. Three new characters have been included in the paid Universe Pack. Just this step might not be enough to guarantee many happy years for the game, but with PS Plus — it becomes possible.
We still need other improvements, such as cross-play and better fighting balance. Hopefully, we’ll see such updates soon enough.
Another thing developers are doing right is the proper presence of the game at big fighting esports events. For example, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was part of the Combo Breaker 2022 lineup.
