With patch 3.01 Kunimitsu finally joins the cast of Tekken 8, and alongside comes a pretty significant patch that adjusts a large portion of the roster alongside several core mechanics.
Let's go over the major universal changes, and if you want to check out specific character balance, you'll find it in the images below!
Probably the biggest QoL change comes in the form of new match options. When rematching someone, as a losing player you can sort of follow the tournament rule of picking a different stage, though in this case it's limited to random. It might add an extra wrinkle to rematches, as some might not want to spend an extra bit of time on loading in, but it's a good option to have nonetheless.
We also finally have random side selection. Tekken probably has one of the biggest "side" disparities in the playerbase because the relative nature of the camera allows both players to appear on the same side on their screen as long as they're not playing offline. This meant that you could just play on whatever side you want, often leading to weaker inputs and gameplay on P2 side. You can still play the same way you used to, but those who want to improve their skills can now do so with random sides.
