New Capcom Financial Results Hints At Timing of SF6's Release

Capcom today released their latest financial report, and in it we get some useful information, especially about the release of Street Fighter 6. According to the report, they are on course to achieve a decade of operating income growth which is quite impressive.

Unfortunately, through this report we also know that we cannot expect Street Fighter 6 in the first quarter of 2023. This is because the report makes it abundantly clear that there would be no major releases apart from Resident Evil 4 Remake before March 2023. It had been speculated that Street Fighter 6 might be released early due to the fact that Capcom Cup will be happening early in 2023 and is largely believed to be the last major tournament featuring Street Fighter V. 

Now, we know that Street Fighter 6 will come only after the first quarter of the year, and a late spring/early summer release seems more likely to be the case presently. 

This, of course, makes the waiting period harder, but with the possibility of another beta and other things such as character reveals, Capcom should have no problem keeping fans' appetites whetted for Street Fighter 6.
