Multiple Record Breaking Registrations For Evo 2023 & A New Partner

Evo released today a short presentation on the registration numbers for Evo 2023, including the multiple record-breaking registration for various franchise. Chief among them was Street Fighter 6's incredible 7000+ registration, breaking the previous record held by 2016 Street Fighter V at 5000 and becoming the largest bracket in the history of Evo in the process.

Furthermore, Tekken 7, Melty Blood: Type Lumina, Guilty Gear Strive, and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, all had franchise record breaking numbers of registered players. In Evo's blog post they also go into detail as to the overlap of players between multiple titles and make a point of how even if you were to only count those playing one bracket, Street Fighter 6 would still be the largest bracket featuring over 3000 players. Finally, there are players from 71 countries, with Street Fighter 6 being the favored event for the top 10 countries by representation.

Evo also announced a new partner. Streaming service Crunchyroll will be present at the event showcasing Street Fighter: Duel, along with other activities on the ground floor and DJ performances.
