No Cross-play capabilities for Mortal Kombat 1 at launch, but the team at NRS was quick to assure players that the feature will be coming to the game

The team at NetherRealm Studios, just a few days away from the launch of the latest entry of one of gaming's beloved franchises, announced that cross-play, a feature allowing players from PC and consoles to play one another online, will not be part of Mortal Kombat 1 at release.

Cross-play features have become popular in recent years, and many players point to it as one a key feature for any modern triple-A release that is also reliant on its online multiplayer gameplay to keep players engaged with its content. Although it won't be there for launch, the team at NRS stated that it is coming and will be made available in a post-launch patch. Whether that is a week into the game's release or a couple of months out, however, has not been mentioned.
