This testing round will run separately from the online beta in August
NetherRealm Studios ended the week after the announcement of Mortal Kombat 1 with the news of another chance for fans to get their hands on the upcoming fighting game before its release. The developers have announced The Mortal Kombat 1 Online Stress Test for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S:
The Online Stress Test will not support cross-platform play and will not require an active PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscription. Dates for this round of testing will be announced later, but this will probably happen closer to September, as the developers say the main goal of the stress test is to deliberately stress online infrastructure and identify potential issues ahead of the game’s launch.
Mortal Kombat 1 will launch on September 19, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam & Epic Games Store). Pre-orders receive Shang Tsung as a playable character and Beta access for PlayStation and Xbox players. Beta will be available in August 2023.
