Mortal Kombat 1 Missing From Evo France Grand Stage Lineup
This could be the death knell for the game

Evo France was announced as an expansion to the world popular tournament which will now be going to other locations. Yesterday, Evo France released its lineup of games that will feature on the grand stage. There were six games, namely,

  • Street Fighter 6
  • Tekken 8
  • Guilty Gear -STRIVE-
  • Dragon Ball FighterZ
  • Granblue Fantsy Versus: Rising
  • Fatal Futy: City of the Wolves

People were quick to notice that there was no Mortal Kombat 1 which is the latest game from NetherRealm studios and was released to a lot of buzz and fanfare. However, due to several complaints by members of the FGC, there is a feeling that the game isn't doing so well both competitively and casually.

It is even more jarring when you consider that MK1 came out last year and is already out of the Evo lineup.

Dragon Ball FighterZ makes a return, but this could be due to the fact that the game is hugely popular in France with some of the world's best players coming from that country including the likes of Yasha.

Also of note is the addition of Fatal Futy: City of the Wolves which isn't even out yet.

Evo France will happen in October 2025.
