Mortal Kombat 1 Debuts at #1 in UK

Mortal Kombat 1 has debuted at number 1 on the UK physical sales charts. However, its launch sales are 38% lower compared to Mortal Kombat 11 in 2019, as Gamesindustry.biz's Chris Ding reported.

This highlights the ongoing decline in physical game sales. Still, Mortal Kombat 1 securing the top chart spot shows the franchise remains popular.

Meanwhile, the new release Lies of P has made an impressive start, claiming the number 3 position ahead of the Pikmin 1+2 remakes. Lies of P's chart placement demonstrate strong initial sales and reception for the new IP.

While physical sales continue to fall, Mortal Kombat 1 and Lies of P have made solid debuts on the latest UK charts. But Mortal Kombat's drop versus its predecessor reflects market trends towards digital purchases.
