Mortal Kombat 1 at IKFK NA, Week 6 — Shaolin Power

It’s the last week of the regular online tournaments. The next step for the Interkontinental Fight Klub (IKFK) NA Mortal Kombat Fall 2023 is the Final event that happens on November 13.

Let’s take a look at the fights of Week 6, their results, and the characters/kameos in use.

MK1 Esports at IKFK NA, Week 6

For quite a long time, Kung Lao has been a popular kameo fighter — at different online tournaments. And at last, the guy got a chance to prove his power as the main character. Splash played Kung Lao with two (somewhat unusual) kameos: Goro and Sonya. Yep, the player’s run in this tournament was tough but quite successful. Splash had to defeat the winner of Week 5 (and the league leader), TheMightyUnjust, in the Losers brackets and had tough matches vs Getrekedyo- and Koisy.

The Grand Final started with a pretty confident bracket reset for Splash. But the tournament winner was decided only in the very last round. And it was Splash!

One more interesting aspect to note is the massive presence of Ashrah/Sareena in this tournament. Three players chose this pair in Top 8. The Winners Final even treated us to a full-mirror match.

The esports dimension of Mortal Kombat 1 is impressively strong, with many online tournaments, like Kolosseum Season V, and great offline gatherings, like the MK1 tournament at First Attack 2023.
