Momochi's New Street Fighter 6 Tier List Causes Stir, Mai On Top

Zeta Division's Momochi has caused a stir in the Street Fighter community after he released his latest character tier list with some surprising entrants. 

The first surprise is that Mai was at the very top of the list and this means that, according to Momochi, Mai Shiranui is the best character in the game. Also of note were the misses from the top 5. 

Momochi's top 5 in the game were:

• Mai 
• Akuma
• Ed
• Ken
• Juri

This is pretty surprising as Ryu, who has been in the finals of both Capcom Cup, and Red Bull Kumite, and was also a mirror match in the recent Saudi ELeague, was not represented in the top 10. Also, Guile, who won both the LCQ and Play-in tournaments at the recent Red Bull Kumite also just about made the top 10. 

This caused a lot of discussion, primarily propelled by Boltstrike, a British Jamie player who pointed out that somehow Jamie was above Chun li and Dee Jay in Momochi's tier list.

Most people did not agree, considering problem characters like Rashid were in the A+ category rather than in the S category. It again showed the difference in thinking between the Japanese FGC and other parts of the world. 

That said, Mai being on top is remarkable, and it'll be interesting to see if she gets the nerf hammer in the next update coming for the game.
