WarnerMedia's plan to show the most anticipated movie premieres of the year on their new HBO Max streaming service has become known to journalists. The company decided to offer 17 films, intended initially exclusively for cinemas, to HBO Max users.
Those movies will be available on the streaming service for one month. After that, the films will again only be available in theaters for an as yet unknown, but very possible not long, period.
After the end of film cinema distribution, they will eventually be added to HBO Max again. Those plans include Mortal Kombat, the reboot of the franchise based on the game, Godzilla vs. Kong, Space Jam: A New Legacy, and some other movies.
Remember, that the premiere of the Mortal Kombat movie is scheduled for April 16, 2021.
