Steam presented Top Releases of 2023

Steam presented the Best of 2023 - a special page where the platform honours top new releases. Street Fighter 6 and Mortal Kombat 1 made the top in several categories.

In 2023, Street Fighter 6 was among the 50 games with the biggest Gross Revenue (Silver Tier). Mortal Kombat 1 is in the Bronze Tier. But that list includes some long-lasting multiplayer powerhouses like Dota 2 and Counter-Strike. If we only count games released this year, Street Fighter 6 is in the Platinum Tier or in the top 12, while Mortal Kombat 1 is in the Gold Tier (13th-24th places).

The most interesting category is "The Year's Most Played Games measured by Daily Active Controller Players". There are several games present there. Street Fighter 6 is in the Platinum Tier, Mortal Kombat 1 is in the Gold Tier, but there are also Guilty Gear -Strive-, Brawlhalla and Mortal Kombat 11, all of which are placed in the Silver Tier.
