This could have happened a year ago but pandemic forced to postpone the tournament
Asian Games is a huge sports event that happens once every four years. However, it has always been a competition in traditional sports. Yet in the 19th event, which should have happened in 2022, one of the official medal sports was Street Fighter V. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the event was postponed for over a year, but now the tournament has concluded, and we can tell the results.
Thirty-five contestants entered this tournament, but it was Kim "M.Lizard" Gwan-woo who was victorious. He didn't lose a single match, although there was a close game against GamerBee in the finals. The bronze medalist of the tournament is Oil King.
Street Fighter V is not the only esports presented at the Asian Games 2022. There are also tournaments in EA SPORTS FC ONLINE, Arena of Valor, League of Legends, Dota 2, Dream Three Kingdoms 2 and Peacekeeper Elite (aka PUBG Mobile)
