Kenny Omega Responds to DJ's Street Fighter 6 Callout, Sets Imminent
The wrestling legend has accepted the challenge of the MMA champion to play Street Fighter 6

Wrestling legend and FGC fave Kenny Omega has built a reputation for himself as an avid fighting game fan especially Street Fighter. He has made appearances at Evo and lent his voice to all things FGC. Above all, he considers himself a very good player of the game.

Therefore, it was a little surprising when he was called out by current ONE Flyweight Champion, Demetrious Johnson who was speaking in an interview. In the interview, Johnson stated that he would defeat Kenny Omega in Street Fighter 6 and will even be willing to put money on it. He said he would be willing to put as much as $1000 to the cause. He even made a cheeky joke about Kenny using Modern controls for the fight.

He followed this up with a tweet where he gave a location in Seattle for the showdown to take place. He explained that the winner will choose a charity for the loser to contribute to.

Johnson is also an avid Street Fighter fan and was even quoted as being excited for the release of the game.

Kenny Omega responded in a tweet of his own where he said that he accepts the challenge since it is for charity and that he would surely be victorious.

The idea of celebrities calling each other out in fighting games is one that has picked up steam recently with Waka Flocka calling out the FGC in regards to Tekken and even trying to get Punk to face him in Street Fighter.

The only difference here is that these two seem to genuinely love the game. There are no details as to how this will go down, but it will be fascinating to see how it shapes up.
