Justakid Wins Capcom Pro Tour Midwest!
The Juri player defied the odds to win the tournament in stunning fashion

David 'Justakid' Edwards is the winner of the latest Capcom Pro Tour tournament which took place over the weekend. Over the last year or so, it seemed like the region was completely dominated by RobTV and Brian_F, but Justakid, who was the hero of the Midwest during the 5v5 against the West Coast, showed his phenomenal improvement once more by taking the tournament. Not only did Justakid win, but he did it in such entertaining fashion as he came back from the brink again and again to win the bracket.

Top 16 revealed a bit of a shock as it did not feature Brian_F and saw RobTV in the losers' bracket. Justakid was also in losers and by the time top 16 was done, we were faced with the prospect of a legendary set between RobTV and Justakid. There were other notable names in top 8 including Elchakotay, Sabo, Boomi, and Toplin. Sabo was responsible for sending Justakid to losers and with Elchakotay made up the duo of Mikas in top 8.

Justakid started off with an incredible victory against RobTV. He followed this up with a win against Boomi before recording back-to-back reverse 3-0s against Sabo and Rocky. Justakid's reward was another date with Mika, this time against Elchakotay who had been in imperious form so far. There was also the fact that Elchakotay was on a mission to end his streak as a 'nearly' man

Elchakotay really did his best, but Justakid with the momentum built over his losers' run where he had already shown some amazing resilience, was able to find some more to defeat Chakotay. Justakid forced a reset and with some really innovative play was able to take the set. Considering the fact that this is the last CPT for the Midwest in Street Fighter V, there is a lot that Jusakid can take away from this.

Next up is Japan and we cannot wait to see what that tournament has for us.
