The Swedish esports organisation Ninjas in Pyjamas has once again dipped into the Asian market, this time announcing the signing of Korean Tekken player Meo-IL.
The move follows NIP’s recent announcement of Koji KOG, only their second-ever Asian signing, and signals a clear intent to build a stronger presence in the region across multiple fighting games.
A Proven Contender Still Chasing the Big One
Meo-IL has long been regarded as one of Korea’s most consistent Tekken competitors. Over the years, he has built a reputation for deep tournament runs, capped off by an especially strong 2025 that included top-eight finishes at EVO, EVO Japan, SOOP Super Tournament, CEO, and Only The Best.
While a major title has so far eluded him, those results underline why Meo-IL continues to attract interest from top-tier organisations. Consistency at that level is often the final step before a breakthrough.
Player Reaction
In a short statement following the announcement, Meo-IL expressed his excitement about the move:
“I'm excited to join @NIP! Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. I will do my best to represent the team well. As it is a new beginning, I will work harder and more constantly!”
