iDom Wins CPT North America/Canada East 2
In a very unsurprising turn of events, iDom was the winner of the CPT NA East 2 with a typically dominant performance

When you talk about the East Coast SFV scene, there are only two names you'll mention first: Punk and iDom. The two have been rivals for quite a while now and while we can't call who is winning that particular rivalry, we can enjoy the heck out of it.

Interestingly, the rivalry did not come out to play in the just concluded Capcom Pro Tour NA East 2 tournament which was won by iDom. Punk entered into the tournament but started top 16 from the loser's bracket. Then, he came up against Zisnuts in the Luke mirror match and was sent crashing out of the tournament. Meanwhile, iDom was sitting pretty in the winner's side and was able to take the entire tournament.

The top 8 bracket looked something like this.

Punk's exit from the tournament meant that iDom became the favourite and he did not disappoint with a series of dominant displays that eventually got him the win. He came up against a very motivated RushdownV2, but he overcame his opponent 3-0 to win the tournament. Another favourite was nycfurby who is a veteran of the game and showed all his incredible experience, especially when pitted against Hoji and Space Boy. nycfurby's Dhalsim is still one of the scariest opponents to face in the whole world and he reminded everyone why the character is so reviled by most players with his ability to create guessing situations that usually ended in his favour.

In the end, iDom was the champion and this means he has now qualified for the Finals which take place next month. This could mean another date with Punk who won the first CPT NA East 1 against iDom which will be tantalizing to watch. iDom is currently the reigning Capcom Cup champion as there has not been an offline tournament since 2019 when he won.

You can be sure that DashFight will follow up on any action that takes place. If you want to check out more FGC material why not read on the awesome America/European Street Fighter rivalry?
