How I Won Street Fighter 6 Evo - AngryBird

The first ever Evo winner for Street Fighter 6, AngryBird, has spilled the beans and revealed why he believes he was able to win the largest fighting game tournament ever. 

Evo 2023 was the first time Street Fighter 6 was going to be played in the iconic tournament and with the popularity of the game at an all-time high, the number of registrants broke records everywhere. 

A whopping 7000 competitiors came from around the world to test their mettle against the very best and see who would win.

In a powerful showing, AngryBird took the tournament over Capcom Cup champ, MenaRD.

In a recent interview posted on the Evo YouTube channel, AngryBird explained that he had an edge over everyone at the time and he made sure to capitalize on it. 

AngryBird talked about how he used Ken in the last season of Street Fighter V where the character was buffed and started to see a bit more representation in the top tournaments. 

Players like AngryBird and Takamura opted for Ken and the former was a menace with the character. 

When Street Fighter 6 came around, Ken was still strong and with a playstyle that is almost identical to the one from Street Fighter V. On top of that, according to AngryBird, Street Fighter 6 is an offensive game, which is a style he thrives on. This made it so that he was a lot more ready for Street Fighter 6 that many of the other competitors. 

He spoke about a lot of other things including why he was so cool with MenaRD's controller trouble, and how he was able to survive the jetlag, hunger and fatigue that generally hits players in huge tournaments like Evo.

AngryBird will next be in action at the Capcom Cup which will start from this weekend with the Last Chance Qualifier.
