Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 To Test Rollback Netcode From the 17th
The rollback netcode revolution continues with Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 being the latest game to get the treatment

The rollback netcode revolution continues with the announcement that the open test for rollback netcode in Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 is just five days away. In a tweet, it was announced that from the 17th of October to the 1st of November 2022, people who own "REV2" and "-REVELATOR-" on Steam can take part in the test for free.

This continues the recent trend of older games getting rollback netcode with the likes of Samurai Showdown also set for a netcode update. Guilty Gear -STRIVE- already has one of the best netcode in the entire industry and it is a delight to see that Xrd will also be getting the same treatment.

What makes the news even better is that Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 will be on sale on Steam during the period of the test, which means that those who are won over by the beta test will also have the chance to buy the game. Guilty Gear did something similar with their beta test for -STRIVE- crossplay which is a brilliant move to get more people into the community.

With most major fighting games now on rollback netcode and the promise that Street Fighter 6 and Project L will also have the same, the future is bright for the genre.
