The update introduces significant ranked play changes and sweeping adjustments to Vaseraga, Zooey, Yuel, and Anila.
CyGames has released a major new update for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, introducing the new DLC character Meg and a comprehensive overhaul of the game's ranked match system. According to the official patch notes, Meg is by a full set of cosmetics, weapon skins, and a new music track. A character guide and gameplay video have been released to help players learn her skills.
The ranked match system has been significantly redesigned with the addition of two new Master ranks. Additionally, the previous color-based rating system has been completely replaced with a new icon-based system that shows the estimated skill difference between players.
The majority of this update focuses on character balancing, with four fighters receiving specific adjustments. Vaseraga was nerfed by reducing his Soul Forge gauge and key normals to decrease his dominant pressure. Zooey was buffed with improvements to her dragon-gauge skills and anti-air options, enhancing her combo consistency. Yuel and Anila also received tweaks aimed at broadening their combo possibilities and increasing their flexibility in neutral situations. Additionally, the update features an extensive list of bug fixes for characters such as Ladiva, Ferry, Nier, and 2B, addressing various issues related to hit detection, invincibility frames, and skill locking.
