Sahara Wins Ultimate Fighting Arena 2025, Secures Capcom Cup Spot
Good 8 Squad’s Sahara emerged victorious at Ultimate Fighting Arena 2025 in Paris, claiming his first-ever major tournament title. He sealed the win in convincing fashion with his Ed, defeating Blanka specialist KingsVega in a one-sided grand final.
Sahara’s performance was nothing short of dominant as he cut through several top players on his way to the championship. The victory also secures his qualification for Capcom Cup XII, a remarkable feat given that he only began playing Street Fighter 6 competitively last year.
Before transitioning to Street Fighter 6, Sahara was active in Fortnite and Valorant. Since obtaining his pro license, he has quickly made a name for himself in the Japanese scene and on the international stage. His first overseas appearance came in 2024 at a Capcom Pro Tour event in Singapore, where he also signed with reigning Street Fighter League Japan champions, Good 8 Squad.
Interestingly, KingsVega shares a similar trajectory. Like Sahara, he only recently entered the Street Fighter 6 circuit and also made his international debut in Singapore last year. Their rise has sparked discussion within the FGC about Japan’s unique developmental pipeline for fighting game talent.
With this milestone victory behind him, Sahara now turns his attention back to Street Fighter League Japan, where he and Good 8 Squad aim to defend their championship.
