Go1 emerged victorious at the highly stacked World Warrior Japan #1.
The tournament, which took place on September 7, 2025, had already set records with more than 2,000 players registered.
With so many top-level Japanese competitors in attendance, the top eight was always going to be unpredictable. Go1 has been having a phenomenal season across multiple fighting games. He recently won the Esports World Cup for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and also placed in the top eight at the EWC for Street Fighter 6. In addition, he is competing in the Street Fighter League Japan as a member of DetonatioN FocusMe.
In the finals, Go1 defeated Dogura, who had battled his way through the losers bracket using Elena and M. Bison. However, he was unable to overcome Go1’s Chun-Li. With this win, Go1 now sits at the top of the World Warrior leaderboard with 50 points. Four more tournaments remain before the regional final. Since Japan is considered a super region, one Capcom Cup XII slot will go to the player with the most points, while another will be awarded to the winner of the regional final.
It will be interesting to see what the remaining four World Warrior Japan events have in store.
