GG Strive at Get On My Level 2023: Shadow vs Bullets

The main focus of Get On My Level 2023 was Smash (six tournaments for this game in different formats), but the event found a place for other great titles. And Guilty Gear Strive is one of them — perhaps thanks to the great power and passion of Canadian players.

Happy Chaos is a pretty popular character in the current meta. We could see a few HC players at Brussels Challenge 2023. And he was present at both Winners Semi-Finals at GOML — both lost, though.

First, May of Corey destroyed Smitty. And then Zato-1 of  PepperySplash sent his mystic shadows against Kami99. The journey of these characters did not stop here.

PepperySplash proved the might of Zato-1 in a fight vs the dolphins and other sea creatures — he won the Final against Corey.

In the Losers brackets, Smitty had confident victories vs Sol (Justin) and Axl (Remi Celeste). In the Losers Final, he faced Corey once again, and this time Happy Chaos lost only one game. The shadows became his last opponent.

Zato-1 looked absolutely unstoppable in the hands of PepperySplash. Smitty sure demonstrated amazing skills (for example, while blocking that powerful corner pressure — watch the clips below in this post). But eventually, the shadows defeated another Happy Chaos. No dolphins and no bullets could stop them in Top 8 of this tournament.
