Gameplay Trailer for Alex In Street Fighter 6 Is Finally Out
Alex is looking like an absolute beast.

Following the recent teaser, Capcom posted a full gameplay trailer for Alex in Street Fighter 6.

While the teaser made it seem like Alex would be returning with his classic gameplay, this new video makes it obvious that this new version of Alex is going to be significantly different, even if he retains many of his iconic moves.

For starters, it seems like Alex is no longer a charge character. He never truly was a pure charge character to begin with, but he's no longer a hybrid where you mix in a lot of normal specials alongside the charges.

This part of his kit has been overtaken by offense-oriented stances that offer a great variety of follow-ups. Like the Air Stampede and Lariat, alongside target combos and throws.

Removing the charge inputs fundamentally impacts how the character is played, and it seems like the new Alex is heavily geared towards far more aggressive gameplay. This is especially accented by the stance that prevents him from blocking, but allows to quickly get in on your opponents while going under fireballs or high attacks.

As usual, he also has 3 different supers. Level 1 is a reversal tackle that can be used in combos. Level 2 is invincible to projectiles and will grant a follow-up if used as anti-air. Level 3 seems to be a more standard big damage finisher where Alex forces opponents into submission. The nice touch here is a second Level 2 that can be performed after a successful OD Power Drop, which will result in a nice little reference for the wrestling fans.

Sadly, there is still quite a long wait for the character to actually release. Alex will be coming out on March 17, as such, there will be a half year gap between character releases. Between this and very infrequent balance updates, it seems like a lot of people are growing a little frustrated with Capcom.

Hopefully Alex comes out good, and we'll see if the SF6 team does actually deliver on their frequently repeated promise of more significant updates.
