Fighting Game Legend, Tokido, Joins Reject Esports Team

Hajime Taniguchi, better known as his gamer tag, Tokido, has announced that he has joined the Reject Esports team and will be representing them in Street Fighter 6 and any other fighting game he gets into. 

In an announcement video posted on YouTube, the team welcomed Tokido with a short video in which Daigo, Momochi, and Haitani talked a bit about Tokido and his prowess. At the end of the video, Tokido did the legendary Akuma pose. 

Tokido also released a short video on his YouTube channel making the announcement and reacting to the announcement video, which he said he hadn't seen. In the video, Tokido said that he had not been on an official team since his stint with Echo Fox back in 2017. Since then, Tokido has not been short of sponsors as he represents Rohto Z! OXY and Sony Music Entertainment. In Street Fighter League Japan, he has typically teamed up with FAV Gaming with Sako and Ryusei. 

Reject Esports is a Japanese Esports team that competes in PUBG Mobile, Valorant, Fortnite, and Brawl Stars, to name a few. They only got into the fighting game scene in April and have already recruited Haitani, who left Shinobism Gaming in March. With Tokido on the books, they can make a concerted push into the fighting game scene, which is bustling at the moment with the release of Street Fighter 6.

Tokido will remain with FAV Gaming while competing in this year's Street Fighter League Japan, but Reject have already stated that they will look to be included in Street Fighter League Japan for next year's season, which could see Tokido joined by new teammates. 

Tokido was most recently at the Red Bull Kumite 2023, where he was part of one of the most iconic matches of the year when he fell to local hero, JabhiM.
