FGC Legend Ryan Hart Lists Greatest Ever Street Fighter V Players
Using statistical data covering their competitive outings, Ryan Hart has listed the 20 greatest SFV players

Who are the greatest Street Fighter V player? Opinions may vary based on preference, bias and so on. But what do the stats say?

Fighting game legend and Guinness Book of Records holder, Ryan Hart, has given his point of view listing the top 20 Street Fighter V players of all time. In a tweet he posted recently, the gaming icon explained that using offline Capcom Pro Tour events from 2016-2023, he was able to draft a list of the most successful Street Fighter V players in that 7-year period. He further added that the scoring system is based on Top 2 finishes within that time period with each tournament given points based on level of difficulty.

Using that list, Ryan Hart concluded that the top three Street Fighter V players of all time are:

  1. Tokido
  2. Punk
  3. Fuudo

Naturally, there was some pushback including the fact that MenaRD who is a two-time Capcom Cup winner is 16th and someone like iDom is out of the top 10 list. But considering this covers seven years worth of competitive action it does make sense. Also considering how utterly dominant Tokido has been over the years, it is difficult to argue with this list.

Tokido might have slowed over the past year including his failure to make it into Capcom Cup, but he showed he still got it winning Topanga World Championship without dropping a single set. It was also a chance for redemption as he defeated MenaRD, the man who stopped him from winning Capcom Cup in 2017

There was also speculation as to what could have been as names such as Infiltration and Nuckle Du are perhaps lower down the list because they stepped out of the competitive light for different reasons.

Tokido's legacy is impressive and with the veteran also ready to compete in Street Fighter 6, it'll be interesting to see if he can cement himself as the best player of all time.
