Street Fighter League Japan 2024 will kick off soon and the teams have started to put out their rosters. The latest team to do so were the champions of the last season of SFL, FAV Gaming.
They announced their roster on social media with a fancy photo that revealed only the hair and eyes of each participant. The team will consist of Sako, Ryusei, Ryukichi, and Ts. This feels like a different team from the one that won the league last season. With Tokido going on to represent Reject, and Bonchan also moving on, the team has lost 50% of its firepower. Sako was missing for chunks of the season either through illness, or just sitting out with Bonchan being the player who won them the most points.
That said, the new additions are great picks with Ryukichi being one of the best new players on the Japanese scene and already has an impressive CV. He won the 'Catch Me' tournament organized by Daigo Umehara and was also the champion of the Nagoya Oja Body Star SFL tryouts. He went to Red Bull Kumite after winning the Japan qualifier and shortly after getting his JeSU professional license, he went to Evo Japan and took 4th place losing to Kakeru in Losers Semi Final.
As for Ts, he is also a new player who impressed after winning 143 consecutive ranked matches at the release of Street Fighter 6.
With Ryusei, who is a veteran at this point and Sako who is a legend, the team looks as strong as ever.
