Esports World Cup Reveals Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Groups
There are some tasty prospects ahead of what will be the biggest Fatal Fury tournament till date

The Esports World Cup has revealed the groups for the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves tournament, which is set to begin in just a few days.

There will be four groups consisting of eight players each. The opening stage will use a double-elimination GSL format, with four players advancing from each group to the second stage.

The second stage will feature two groups of eight players and will follow the same double-elimination GSL format. Four players from each group will then advance to the final stage, where the format switches to a single-elimination bracket with first-to-five (FT5) matches until a champion is crowned. All matches before the final stage will be played as first-to-three (FT3).

There are a few notable storylines to watch heading into the event. Greek twins K-TOP and H-DOPE have been placed in the same group, creating the possibility of a highly anticipated matchup should they cross paths. However, they will also have to contend with tournament favorite Xiao Hai, who joins them in Group A.

Meanwhile, fellow tournament favorite Go1 finds himself in Group B alongside Fenritti, Poongko, and SCORE — all established names capable of challenging him.

American players NYChrisG and Reynald have been placed in Group D, which some have speculated is the most favorable group and could provide a strong opportunity for both players to advance.

The Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves event at the Esports World Cup begins on July 8 and runs through July 11, 2026.
