DreamHack Birmingham is now complete, with qualification spots for the Esports World Cup secured in both Street Fighter 6 and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
Gachikun's First Big Win In a While
For Street Fighter 6, there were two spots up for grabs, claimed by Gachikun and the young prodigy Micky.
Gachikun went on to win the tournament, defeating Micky in the Grand Final after the latter managed to reset the bracket. Despite the setback, Gachikun showed resilience to clutch out the victory.
For Gachikun, this marks a significant moment. It is his first major tournament win since 2024, when he claimed DreamHack Dallas. While his team, Good 8 Squad, has consistently performed well and he has played his part, his individual results had dipped somewhat prior to this victory.
ZJZ Takes the CotW Spot
In Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, ZJZ emerged as the winner, defeating Dark Angel from Mexico in the Grand Final.
Unlike Street Fighter 6, only one qualification spot was available for CotW, meaning Dark Angel will need to look elsewhere to secure a place at the Esports World Cup.
