Detonation FocusMe Land SFL MVP Kei.B in Major Roster Upgrade
The Street Fighter League Japan MVP joins forces with Go1 as Detonation FocusMe target playoff glory

Japanese team Detonation FocusMe has bolstered its ranks with the signing of multi-game talent Kei Komada, otherwise known as Kei.B.

Kei.B made the transfer from Nagoya Oja NTP, where he spent three years and hopes to further his career with DFM.

Last season, Kei.B was the MVP winner in Street Fighter League Japan, scoring 140 points for his team with 9 wins and only one defeat all season. He was the highest point scorer for his team and was able to lead them to the playoffs. They fell short, but it also represented Nagoya Oja's highest-ever placement at SFL so far.

What The Teams Had to Say

The move was announced on DFM's X page where they posted the following: "KEI.B Player Joins DFM from Nagoya OJA. Last year in SFL, he won League MVP, and now one of Japan's top multi-fighting gamers KEI.B (@BNBBN) joins DFM!

"KEI.B is very close with GO1, so look forward to their synergy too."

DFM were unable to make the playoffs last time around and are hoping that with a squad that already features Go1, the addition of Kei.B gives them a formidable force heading into the upcoming season. The mention of his closeness with Go1 suggests this is as much about chemistry as it is about raw talent.

Kei.B also responded with a post of his own, making clear that he has ambitions to travel more this year and actively qualify for both the Esports World Cup and Capcom Cup, two tournaments he has yet to feature in during Street Fighter 6.

"As announced, I have transferred and joined DFM!" he said.

"While I do feel a sense of loneliness leaving the Nagoya-based team where I spent three years, I'll do my best to contribute by leveraging the experience I've gained so far.

"Also, this year, with the goal of participating in EWC and CC, I plan to compete in overseas tournaments as well, so I kindly ask for your continued support and cheers!"

How Will Nagoya Oja Replace Him?

Nagoya Oja put together a strong squad for SFL last season with Seiya and Kei.B as the bedrock, adding Otani and Mocchii on loan from Burning Core and Joz, respectively. Kei.B was their talisman, the player capable of leading them to the heights they always wanted. With him gone, they will have to find an answer.

They announced his departure on X, wishing him well and bemoaning the loss of a native son who grew up in the city. It is a detail that adds an emotional dimension to what might otherwise read as a routine roster move, Kei.B was not just a player for Nagoya Oja, he was one of their own.

Nagoya Oja are yet to announce their squad for the upcoming SFL season. When that reveal comes, whoever steps into that role will face immediate scrutiny over whether they can replicate what Kei.B brought to the team.
