Capcom Is Letting Fans Try Ingrid at Evo Japan, But There's a Catch
A separate ticket, no other characters available, and a suspicious game build — could SF6's long-awaited big patch be closer than we think?

Some lucky fans will be able to try out Ingrid as soon as the 1st of May!

Ingrid is the final character for Season 3 of Street Fighter 6's DLC, and following her gameplay trailer, fans have been excited at the prospect of trying her out. It was great news then when Capcom announced that she will be playable in test booths at Evo Japan. Those interested will need to purchase a separate ticket on top of the general Evo Japan entry for the chance to test her out.

Will Ingrid Come With a Patch For Street Fighter 6?

The game built with Ingrid will not be the same as what will be used for the SF6 tournament at Evo Japan, and participants will be unable to try out any other character apart from Ingrid. This might suggest that Capcom is hiding a balance patch in this build. Traditionally, the last character for a season usually introduces the new season, which comes with a patch that updates character moves and could change the meta entirely.

With SF6's last patch back in March not changing anything of real consequence despite affecting every character, there is some speculation that the start of Year 4 could be the notorious 'big patch' that the fanbase has been loudly calling for over a considerable period of time.

We can expect to see more of Ingrid's gameplay with this test, and for a character that has already generated so much excitement, this will only whet the appetite further for when she finally releases on the 28th of May 2026.
