Ingrid's Monoid Is Officially Playable in Street Fighter 6
What started as a cute companion has been confirmed as a fighter in its own right, arriving alongside Ingrid on the 28th of May

Ingrid's Monoids in Street Fighter 6 were initially thought to be a cute companion for the character, but a short snippet in her gameplay trailer teased that one would be playable. Now it has been confirmed, with Capcom releasing a short trailer featuring the Monoid in battle against another character.

The Monoid is a small, orb-like creature that has long been part of Ingrid's visual identity, floating alongside her as a kind of mystical familiar. In SF6, it joins the fight when players activate Ingrid's taunt and brings with it a limited but entertaining set of moves, including a diving hit and fireball beams. It can even evade projectiles and land hits on the opponent, giving it more utility than its playful appearance might suggest.

Such moves are unlikely to see much use in competitive play, but that is not really the point. The Monoid is a whimsical addition and a welcome one in a game that has cultivated a large and enthusiastic casual fanbase. Not everything needs to be tournament viable to be worth having.

Ingrid joins the cast on the 28th of May 2026, alongside a possible balance patch and new features, including avatar arcade mode and random avatar matches.
