CPT Standings Highlight Japanese Dominance, North America Struggles
There might be only 3 North Americans this time around

The official Capcom Fighters X page has released the latest Capcom Pro Tour standings, with the top six players currently securing qualification for next year’s Capcom Cup.

Six of the eight Premier events have already been played, leaving only two tournaments remaining: EVO France and FightClub Championship VI in Chengdu, China. While the top six is packed with elite competitors, one detail stands out: there are no North American players in the mix.

North America has long been considered one of the strongest regions outside of Japan, making their absence at the top of the leaderboard a surprise. In contrast, Japan continues to demonstrate its depth, holding four of the six qualifying spots and looking poised to claim even more points in the final two events.

The closest North American contenders are Dual Kevin and Punk, with Nephew, Psycho, and NoahTheProdigy still holding slim chances of qualifying through the leaderboard. However, the bigger concern is that no North American player has won a Premier event this season. If the trend continues, the region could send as few as three representatives to Capcom Cup, a sharp contrast to Japan, which could potentially field as many as 13 players.

There’s still an opportunity for a late surge. If North American players manage to capture either EVO France or Chengdu, the regional balance could shift. Otherwise, the road to Capcom Cup may spark renewed debate about regional strength in the current era of Street Fighter 6.
