The tournament has gotten off to a great start
The first edition of a new weekly online tournament, Run It Thursdays, took place on the 7th of July 2022 and was a resounding success. The tournament, which is organized by CLG FGC and hosted by RobTV, Logan Sama, Vicious, and Rynge is an all-American affair that features both the East and West Coast. There is a $800 pot with $400 going to each coast.
For the East Coast, iDom was once again crowned the champion while ChrisCCH was the winner of the West Coast competition.
With the discontinuation of the NLBC online tournament, there was a vacuum for a weekly tournament that features the very best players and it would seem that CLG's Run it Thursdays could be the answer.
While the tournament featured Street Fighter V, it would seem that there will be a new game every week in a sort of rotation.
Also of note is the unique ladder system added to the tournament. The ladder system is one that allows players to play as many sets as they want and if they accrue enough points, they can make it into the top 8. This means that anyone in the top 8 will have gone through numerous battles and it brings a new level of ferocity to proceedings.
Run it Thursdays will take place every week with ladders starting at 4 p.m. ET for the East Coast bracket and 4 p.m. PT for the West Coast. The top 8 bracket starts at 8 p.m for each region (ET and PT taken into consideration).
