Chris G Posts One Of The First Mai Match-Up Charts

With Mai Shiranui out for a couple of days, players have started to debate where she stands in the meta and how she does against the rest of the cast. 

With a lot of similarities to Chun li, it will seem she will fit in the middle of the pack. One player that looks forward to using her and has already put up a match-up chart is Evo Champion, NYChrisG who also mentioned that he would like to use her as a main for the time being. 

According to the chart, ChrisG claims that both Honda and Jamie are at a disadvantage against her. Since she has good corner pressure and carry, it will be difficult to make it out without some sort of reversal. 

That said, she seems to really struggle against the upper echelon in the game including characters like Guile who can keep her out and Akuma whose overwhelming damage and strong fireball game can be difficult to overcome. 

ChrisG also said he would like to main Mai for a while after using the character to crack the 2000 MR ceiling and rise to the top of the Legends ranking. 

He also mentioned how he has missed offline competition and can't wait to return to it. 

Players have been giving their opinion of the new character and one player who isn't so enthused with her is reigning Evo champion, Punk, who stated that he feels the character is firmly in the middle of the pack and struggles in a lot of match-ups. 

Punk might turn out to be right, but it is still too early to make a definitive call as to where the character fits in the meta.
