Capcom Pro Tour 2023 South America West Results and Standing
After the shock of seeing a Zangief make it to Capcom Cup, things returned to normal and we have our first JP

The Capcom Pro Tour 2023 online premiers roll on with the South America West leg of the event taking place and we saw a winner in Dookie who overcame a big scare in Grand Final to clutch it out and qualify for Capcom Cup.

Dookie defeated Shaka22, 3-2, and with that result, is through to Capcom Cup.

Dookie was also the winner for South America West for Street Fighter V with his menacing Bison, but he was unable to make the event and was eventually replaced by Frozen. So, this win grants Dookie another chance to make it to Capcom Cup and with the money on the line, he would not want to miss out this time.

Dookie seems to have a thing for villains as he uses JP and this win means we have our first JP in Capcom Cup and with the trajectory the character has been taking, you can assume he would certainly not be the last.

Shaka22 was close to forcing a reset by overcoming a two-game deficit to tie the set up at 2-2, but Dookie found the impetus he needed to win and did so with style. After the shock of seeing Snake Eyez win with Zangief, there was some hope that perhaps another 'low-level' character could make it, but we'll have to wait till maybe Mister Crimson.

YoungHou, who was also in Capcom Cup earlier this year took third place with Modern Marisa which was notable as he showed how useful the control scheme could be in high-level play.

One of the most notable players was the 13-year-old Ken player, Blaz11 who was utterly impressive all through but eventually fell to a follow youngling, 21-year-old Yurei. This was encouraging to see as it seems there is new blood coming on the scene.

Dookie took to his social media account to thank everyone for the support and it is hoped we see him at Capcom Cup this time.

The next online premier is Asia East which will feature South Korea, Hong Kong, and so on.
