Submissions are open until May 6th, and the winning design will be brought to life by the illustrator behind SFL's artwork since 2023
Street Fighter 6 has built one of the most creatively engaged communities in fighting games, and Capcom is about to give that community its biggest canvas yet. Through their official esports X account, Capcom has announced an open call for fan-submitted artwork to serve as the mascot for Street Fighter League 2026.
The winning submission will be redrawn by Professor Ryuta Fuse, a professional illustrator who has worked with Capcom extensively and has been responsible for SFL's special illustrations across 2023, 2024, and 2025.
How to Enter Capcom's Latest Art Contest
Full rules and regulations are available on the official Capcom esports website, but the entry requirements are straightforward: follow the Capcom esports account on X, submit your artwork using the hashtag #SFLMascot, and do so before the May 6th deadline.
One rule stands out: generative AI is explicitly prohibited. This will bring to mind a controversy that followed the 2nd art contest, where an artist was proven to have used AI and was one of the winning submissions. Capcom acknowledged the use of AI and subsequently disqualified the entry.
SF6's Art Legacy
Art has been one of the successful ways in which Street Fighter 6 has meaningfully engaged its audience with the highly popular ‘SF6 Art Contest’ which has had 3 editions so far and has produced some amazing works of art used primarily as challenger screen art for ranked matches. Doing it for something as huge as SFL will only attract more artists.
Submissions are open now. If the SF6 Art Contest is anything to go by, the next few weeks should produce work worth watching.
