Capcom Drops Surprise Ingrid Teaser
The celestial fighter makes her mainline Street Fighter debut ahead of a gameplay reveal expected in the coming weeks

Capcom has released a surprise teaser trailer for Ingrid, confirming her as the final DLC character for Street Fighter 6's Season 3. The trailer appeared without prior announcement, prompting an immediate response from the FGC community.

In the teaser, Ingrid encounters the SF6 world avatar and references inhabiting a world she found empty. She notices the avatar is carrying one of her "Monoids," small, doll-like figurines she appears strongly attached to, and declares that their fates are now linked as a result. The trailer closes with Ingrid breaking reality by 'knocking' against thin air and causing it to shatter like glass, opening a portal by literally drawing a door with her finger in empty space, and departing the scene. Her interactions with the world avatar is whimsical and there's a playful undertone throughout the trailer.

A full gameplay trailer is expected within the coming weeks, which should provide clarity on her moveset and competitive toolkit.

A Character With a Complicated History

Ingrid originates from Capcom Fighting All-Stars, an unreleased title where she was designated as one of four "Code Holders" alongside characters D.D., Rook, and Avel. She eventually made her playable debut in Capcom Fighting Evolution and later appeared in Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX on the PlayStation Portable. She was notoriously disliked in that game due to a playstyle that was difficult to pin down and wasn't appealing to many fans at the time.

SF6 marks her first appearance in a mainline Street Fighter title, a distinction that has fueled ongoing debate in the community about her canonical status within the franchise's lore. Within the story, she is described as a celestial being whose power source is distinct from established SF energy types such as Psycho Power or Soul Power.

Her Role In Street Fighter 6

What are the lore implications for Ingrid in the game? Well, there's a lot that can be done with her. It is already clear that she isn't a regular human being and doesn't come from Earth. Her powers are ambiguous, but also clearly potent, so she might be a character that comes to bring about some cataclysmic change in the world. She doesn't have any real backstory with any of the existing characters apart from some snippets about her seeing Ryu. With the gameplay trailer, there might be more to sink our teeth into.

Capcom has confirmed Ingrid is scheduled for a late spring 2026 release, placing her expected arrival sometime in late April or early May, coinciding with the launch of Street Fighter 6's new season.
