Capcom Cup Qualifier, Si Anik, Gets Visa Following Past Failure
The story has a happier ending this time

Saiful Islam, otherwise known as Si Anik, will be able to partake in Capcom Cup this year and announced that he has been able to secure a visa to Japan.

Typically, this sort of story wouldn't mean anything, but is of interest due to the player's experience with the last edition of Capcom Cup which he also qualified for but was ultimately unable to partake in due to being denied a visa to the United States.

At the time, the player did his best to secure a visa, but was unable to and it led to some mild controversy after he accidentally doxxed someone on the Capcom team in a bid to get some help.

Si Anik is from Bangladesh, an underrepresented community and region, so his qualification was a big deal. His place was taken by Shadoken, a Ken player from India.

Si Anik has been drawn into Group B, where he will have to battle S4LTYKID, NL, NoahTheProdigy, JB, and GranTodakai for a spot in the top 16.

We wish him all the best in the tournament.
