Capcom Announces Major Street Fighter League Changes Ahead of Season
Street Fighter League is about to look very different

Capcom has announced some major changes for Street Fighter League ahead of the upcoming season.

Street Fighter League is an annual team competition where organizations from different regions battle in a league format for the ultimate prize. Traditionally, Japan's season begins first before Europe and the United States start later in the year.

As the league's popularity has grown, several changes have been introduced over the years, with the upcoming season's adjustments potentially being the biggest so far. Starting this season, SFL will restructure its regional format.

This means an expansion of the two existing international leagues. SFL US will now become SFL Americas, covering North, Central, and South America, while SFL Europe will become SFL EMEAA, covering Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asian countries outside Japan.

The announcement also raises several questions that currently remain unanswered. For example, will the expanded regions lead to more teams in both SFL Americas and SFL EMEAA? And what happens to the proposed SFL Asia, which was announced back in January? For now, there are no clear answers.

SFL Japan Announces League Structure

In other news, Capcom also revealed the two leagues that will feature in SFL Japan, with Leagues S and F returning. Each league will consist of six teams, with the top three teams advancing to the playoffs.

League S consists of:

  • Crazy Raccoon

  • Team iXA

  • ZETA DIVISION Geekly

  • KADOKAWA FAV Gaming

  • Sainshunkan Sol Kumamoto

  • FUKUSHIMA IBUSHIGIN

Meanwhile, League F consists of:

  • REJECT

  • Good 8 Squad

  • NTPOJA

  • Detonation FocusMe

  • VARREL

  • Riddle Order

Capcom also confirmed a start date, with action kicking off on August 25th, 2026.

With these new changes in place, there are certainly exciting times ahead for Street Fighter League fans.
