Europe seems to have fully embraced the FT3 life
Europe is the first region it seems to fully embrace the idea of playing tournaments as first-to-3 from the beginning to the end as two majors from the region have confirmed that they will run an FT3 tournament for Street Fighter 6.
Both Brussels Challenge and The Mixup have confirmed that their Street Fighter 6 tournaments will be FT3 which is the preferred format for players.
Both tournaments have also promised that the game will be played on PC setups to reduce issues with lag.
Not only that, but The Mixup which holds in the summer has promised that there will be a carnival of Street Fighter tournaments including events for Street Fighter II, Alpha 3, 3rd Strike, Ultra 4, and SFV.
Fans can get really excited as Europe seems to be setting the standard.
It was thought impossible to have tournaments on PC, and a full FT3 tournament was also deemed difficult. But, tournaments like Ultimate Fighting Arena have pioneered this sort of tournament organization to create a fun spectacle for fans and players alike.
It remains to be seen if this will translate to other regions as time goes on and the viability of such an idea can be conceived.
Brussels Challenge will run between the 17th and 18th of May while The Mixup will happen in July 2025.
